On 27th November, 1914, the 4th Royal Fusiliers battalion of 9 Brigade, 3rd Division, left Westoutre where they had been training for a week and moved to the front line trenches at Kemmel On 30th November, the day when Archibald Ward was killed, probably as a result of shell fire, they were relieved and returned to Westoutre. |
